The BEST Self Tanners

Self Tanning…..

Why sit in the HOT Sun for hours or Why bake in a Self Tanning Machine for days when you can Self Tan in 1 hour.  Self Tanning is the safest way to tan and it leaves the UV rays out of the equation. The two most common chemicals in self tanners are dihydroxyacetone (DHA) and Erythrulose, both of which work by reacting with the amino acids on the skin surface. If you don't want streaks, orange hands, dark creases…Following these steps will help you.

1. Set aside enough time to apply self tanner.

2. Take a shower or bath and exfoliate your skin.

3. Shave

4. Massage lotion into trouble areas like knees, elbows, feet and hands.

5. You are Ready to apply. If you don't want to risk  getting orange hands, put on a pair of latex gloves. Spread the tanner over your skin in circular motions, making sure not to miss any spots. If you're not using gloves, don't spend too much time rubbing in the tanner because your hands will get too much of it. Use a timer and make sure you wash your hands every five minutes, scrubbing under and around the nails.
  • Around your feet, spread the tanner from your legs onto your ankles and the tops of your feet, and use as little as possible in this area. Don't apply any to your toes, heels, or the sides of your feet.
  • Apply the tanner sparingly on your face and neck because that skin will darken easily. Don't forget behind your ears and the back of your neck, especially if you have short hair.
  • While most people don't have tanned underarms, avoiding that area can be difficult, so it's better to apply self tanner there and lightly wipe with a damp washcloth about five minutes later.

6. After you're done with the tanner, apply mosterizing lotion to the tops of your feet, your ankle, your feet, and toes.  This will help prevent those spots from getting too dark.

7. At last, wait 8 hours before showering or bathing again. If you feel sticky, apply baby powder
